We get asked this all the time — and honestly, it all depends on where and why you’re burning!
Heating your home?
Go with our Naturally Seasoned or Heat Treated Seasoned Hardwood Mixes.
Seasoned firewood will burn long and hot — perfect for steady, efficient heat through the night.
Cozy evenings by the fireplace?
Our Kiln Dried firewood is the way to go! It burns much hotter and is easy to start and maintain, allowing you to enjoy the moments.
Outdoor firepit?
Any of our seasoned woods will do, but Kiln Dried means less smoke and more fun!
Cooking with wood?
Naturally Seasoned Hardwood Mix will work great to maintain steady heat to cook over. Hickory is a very dense hardwood, which means it will burn longer and the flavors work well with pork and beef. Oaks are also a popular wood to cook with as it works well with all foods.
Our Personal Favorites:
We both prefer the Kiln Dried Firewood for our wood stove and outdoor fires. This firewood has a moisture content well below 10%, which means the wood does not have to burn away much moisture making it is easier to light, maintain and burns much much hotter.
Michelle's favorite is the Kiln Dried White Oak — "The logs naturally begin to pull apart making it easy to gather kindling and start the fire."
Nick's favorite is the Kiln Dried Cherry — "The firewood gives off that sweet, woodsy aroma."
No matter your fire, we’ve got the perfect wood for it!
Drop your go-to firewood (and what you burn it in!) in the comments — we love hearing how everyone uses their wood!
Stay warm,
