Understanding Our Updated Delivery & Stacking Options
We offer several delivery and stacking options to fit your property and your needs. Before placing your order, take a moment to review the descriptions and conditions below so you can select the right options for your delivery.
Why We're Updating Our Delivery & Stacking Fees
When you order firewood from The Firewood Co., your total cost is based on three things: the firewood itself, delivery to your property, and optional stacking service.
These costs are kept separate intentionally. Our firewood prices reflect the product you're purchasing, while delivery and stacking fees reflect the services provided to fulfill your order.
By keeping these costs separate, you pay for the firewood you choose and only the services your particular order requires.
It is important that our delivery and stacking services are sustainable. Our previous fees did not cover the costs of providing these services.
We've updated our pricing to better account for the distance traveled and the time & wages involved in each service. This allows us to continue offering firewood delivery and stacking while giving you clear options based on your exact needs and your property.
Fulfillment Options
Delivery
Your delivery fee is calculated using a $50 base fee plus $3 per one-way driving mile to your delivery address. Our system uses a recommended route on Google maps and is adjusted automatically at checkout.
Pick Up
Pick Up is now available free of charge. You will receive a notification when your order is ready. Orders will typically be ready within 3 business days. If there is an extended timeline, we will reach out.
Your firewood will be placed in an accessible location at the front of the shop and clearly marked with your order number. You can pick up your order anytime once it is ready.
Please do not enter the shop or walk or drive to the back of the shop. Customers are responsible for loading their own orders. Employees are not available to assist with loading.
Stacking Options
Please choose the option that best matches your needs. If you are not sure which option to choose, please reach out for assistance. We can not honor a written note to stack if the correct option was not chosen and paid for. For example, if you choose Move with Wheelbarrow Dump and write a note to stack in backyard, we can not honor the request until the order is updated.
Driveway Dump
Price: $0
Description: Your firewood is delivered and dumped on or beside your driveway.
Conditions & Restrictions:
Our truck must remain on the driveway or another suitable hard surface. We do not drive our trucks off of the driveway.
The driveway and dump location must be safe and accessible for our truck.
The area must be clear of vehicles, snow, ice, and other obstacles.
Example: You want your firewood order dumped in front of the garage.
Move with Wheelbarrow Dump
Price: $30 per ⅓ cord
Description: Your firewood is moved from the driveway to an accessible location using a wheelbarrow and dumped into a pile. This option does not include stacking.
Conditions & Restrictions:
A clear, suitable path at least 3 feet wide is required.
The route must be free of stairs and obstacles that prevent safe wheelbarrow access.
The destination must be accessible for the wheelbarrow.
Example: You want your firewood dumped in the backyard and there is no driveway access to that area.
Standard Stacking
Price: $50 per ⅓ cord
Description: Your firewood is stacked neatly within 15 feet of the truck's access in the driveway.
Conditions & Restrictions:
The distance is measured along the route the firewood must travel.
A clear, suitable path at least 3 feet wide is required for the wheelbarrow.
The route must be free of stairs and obstacles that prevent safe wheelbarrow access.
The stacking area must be accessible and ready before delivery.
Example: You would like your firewood stacked in your garage and the delivery truck has access up to the garage door.
Extended Stacking
Price: $75 per ⅓ cord
Description: Your firewood is moved using a wheelbarrow and stacked neatly more than 15 feet and up to 50 feet away.
Conditions & Restrictions:
The distance is measured along the route the firewood must travel.
A clear, suitable path at least 3 feet wide is required.
The route must be free of stairs and obstacles that prevent safe wheelbarrow access.
The stacking area must be accessible and ready before delivery.
Example: You want your firewood stacked in a rack at the side of your house about 30 feet from the truck access.
Long-Distance Stacking
Price: $100 per ⅓ cord
Description: Your firewood is moved from the driveway and stacked neatly more than 50 feet away.
Conditions & Restrictions:
The distance is measured along the route the firewood must travel.
A clear, suitable path at least 3 feet wide is required.
The route must be free of stairs and obstacles that prevent safe wheelbarrow access.
The stacking area must be accessible and ready before delivery.
Example: You want your firewood stacked next to the firepit in the backyard over 50 feet from the truck.
Porch or Deck Stacking
Price: $125 per ⅓ cord
Description: Your firewood is moved using a wheelbarrow to an accessible porch or deck and stacked neatly in the designated location.
Conditions & Restrictions:
The porch or deck and the access route must be suitable for safe delivery.
The route to the bottom of the porch or deck steps must be at least 3 feet wide to accommodate the wheelbarrow.
The stacking area must be clear and ready before delivery.
Example: You want your firewood stacked on your wood rack on the back deck, and the path from the truck's access point on the driveway to the deck steps is at least 3 feet wide.
Basement Stacking
Price: $250 per ⅓ cord
Description: Your firewood is moved with a wheelbarrow from the truck to the basement or staircase access, carried by hand up or down the staircase, and stacked neatly.
Conditions & Restrictions:
The route to the staircase must be at least 3 feet wide to accommodate a wheelbarrow.
The stacking area must be clear and ready before delivery.
The staircase and access route must be safe and suitable for carrying firewood.
If your staircase or access is unusually narrow, steep, obstructed, or otherwise difficult, please contact us before ordering to confirm whether the location is suitable.
Example: Your firewood needs to be stacked in the basement, and the steps are safe for carrying loads of firewood.
Delivery Safety Reminder
Keep dogs secured during deliveries.
Please keep everyone, especially children, away from the driveway and delivery area while our truck is backing up and unloading.
Have little ones at home? Once the delivery is finished and the truck is safely parked, feel free to ask our driver if he has any little surprises for them! We often have squishies on hand for our youngest customers. ❤️
