Burned buying firewood that won’t burn? We can dry it!Dry My Wood™ is a corrective service for homeowners who purchased firewood advertised as “seasoned” but is actually green. Burning unseasoned wood is dangerous, causing creosote buildup, chimney fires, smoke hazards, and serious safety risks.
Selling green wood as seasoned is illegal, but it still happens. Our kiln-drying service makes your wood safe, efficient, and burn-ready — fast, professional, and complete with free stacking after delivery.
Eligibility
Service is available only to residential households that have recently purchased unseasoned firewood advertised as seasoned
Proof of purchase (receipt or invoice) is required
Each household is limited to one use.
Emergency assistance for home-split wood: We may offer help if homeowners split their own wood but it didn’t dry in time. Proof of splitting and storage may be requested
Wood Condition
Only fresh, unseasoned wood is eligible for Dry My Wood™. Rotted, moldy, or otherwise damaged wood cannot be accepted for kiln drying. Wood must be split and stored by the homeowner.
Service Rules & Pricing
Kiln-drying service: $250 per 1/3 cord
Delivery and pick-up fees: Based on county and adjusted at checkout. Only charged once.
Includes free stacking of your wood after drying (a $50 per 1/3 cord value)
Dry My Wood™ reserves the right to decline service for unverifiable wood, repeated requests, or suspected commercial abuse
Expected Timeline ⏱
Pick-up: up to 5 business days
Kiln drying: 3–5 days, depending on original moisture content
Delivery: up to 5 business days after kiln dried
Kiln-Drying Process & Moisture Verification
Your green firewood is kiln dried at 160°F for 3–5 days, exceeding standard heat-treatment requirements. Our kiln is equipped with integrated core temperature and humidity sensors, continuously monitoring conditions throughout the drying cycle to ensure consistent, controlled results.
At the completion of the kiln-drying process, your wood is brought to safe, burn-ready moisture levels to reduce creosote risk and ensure a clean, efficient fire.
